Ever wondered what it takes to become an EMS professional? Or have you ever wondered wanted to become one. Here are some upcoming classes to obtain your EMS certification as a Basic Life Support provider and if you want to continue up the ladder to an Advanced Live Support provider. After you obtain these initial certifications you have to continue to train and keep your EMS skill and knowledge sharp and up to date. CE classes are all over our local area and are being offered year around.

COURSES:

EMT Course: SWCC EMT-Basic (EMS 111 & 120, eight credits) at VHCC – Abingdon and SWCC-Richlands, and Crossroads – Galax

VH, SW, and Galax will start Wednesday, August 24.    Classes are combination of online self-study and night class lab.

When we have lab, it will be on Monday / Wednesday nights, 6pm – 10pm.

We will also have classes on 3 Saturdays:  Dates TBD

For either one apply and enroll at the college website;  www.vhcc.edu or www.sw.edu (www.sw.edu  for both Richlands and Galax courses)

Click on our application website below (scroll down to EMS Technology) and follow steps 2 and 5.  For EMT-Basic, all you need is #2 and #5.   – Cost is usually covered by financial aid.
