EMT CLASS SIMULATIONS

Students in the 2007 Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
class being held at Floyd County Rescue Squad's Station
No, 1 just outside the Town of Floyd listen as instructor
Jason Schumann announces the classes' first emergency
medical simulation exercise.

EMT evaluator Donna Johnson (rear) keeps a careful watch
on Caylan Barrett (left) and Ryan Bird as they "package"
patient Kim Schumann for transport to a hospital. In the simulation,
she supposedly fell 40-feet from a ladder. Her only complaint was
an injured ankle. Students are expected to follow the correct
procedures and protocols based on mechanism of injury, patient
complaints and physical signs of injury.

VETERAN'S DAY PARADE IN FLOYD, VA

Rescue Squad volunteers were among participants
proud to take part in Floyd County's Veteran's Day
Parade as it weaved through through downtown Floyd.
Here. the squad's Crash Truck, Unit 401, which carries the
"Jaws of Life" and other rescue and extrication gear, turns
the corner in front of the court house. Following it are
ambulances from county rescue stations. The squad's
SUV response vehicle, Unit 400, led them through town.
